We recently finished some logo design work for Ramseur Records new look. Ramseur Records is an independent folk and roots music record label based in Concord, N.C. The label was founded in July 2000 by Dolph Ramseur and has become one of the most respected indie folk labels on the national scene. Heard of The Avett Brothers? Thank Ramseur Records for that and many other great local bands from North Carolina.
There’s a story behind the dog, but you’ll have to get that from Dolph. Taken from several source photos, we sketched the Spanish Mastiff out, then illustrated in ink, scanned him and designed the rest of the elements to achieve the feel the client was after.
Look for this art in Paste Magazine and around the web, likely wherever great indie music is found online!

We really enjoyed helping 5 Head Entertainment totally rebrand its image with this new direction. Part of the challenge we had was taking all the different aspects of what 5 Head Entertainment offers (artist management, promotion, a record label) and create a way graphically that ties them all together, as well as one “umbrella” logo mark. Here’s some of the artist 5 Head works with: The Alcazar Hotel, Katharine Whalen (Squirrel Nut Zippers), Jimmy Brown and Carolina Chocolate Drops! Company web site design coming soon.

We recently finished helping a client completely rebrand their private line of hosiery related products. Peds® socks have been around since the 1930s! Today, Peds creates a wide array of footwear that unites beauty and performance to support every woman’s unique sense of style.
If you’re a lady (or you have a thing for buying ladies socks), Peds can be found the next time you’re shopping at Kmart, Payless Shoes, Shoe Carnival, Famous Footwear and a few other retail locations.
Along with the updated and refreshed logo identity, we printed each design with metallic silver throughout, so the design helps create a uniting brand and feel for the completely updated product line. It was a fun and challenging project!

After we finalized his new logo, the client applied it to some of his devices (or “skinned”). We think it came out pretty dang cool. We can do the same for your small (or HUGE) company! Impress friends, clients and people that are easily impressed! Seriously, we think it came out fantastic and hope to do the same with our very own logo! Thanks to Bil for the photographs.
Call or email us for any identity design or logo design projects you might have coming up, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Just ask Bil.
